Orb Plug-in String Lights

The strand is a black PVC cable carrying ten plastic globes, so there is no glass to break. The globes are Brightech's own patented shape, which is what gives the strand its look compared with a standard Edison-style run.

The globes. Instead of the usual pear-shaped bulbs, the Orb uses ten round, frosted 1 watt orbs, about 3.9 inches across, on a 28.6 foot strand. The whole run draws 8 watts, less than a single old-fashioned bulb, and it plugs into a standard outlet.

Not on their own: the strand has no switch or dimmer built in and is simply on when plugged in. The light is a warm 2500K, the candle-like end of warm white. Brightech's Outdoor Dimmer adds remote dimming to plug-in strands.

The globes glow in every direction, so you aim the strand by how you hang it. Draped low over a table gives an intimate pool of light, and a higher zigzag across a yard spreads it evenly.

Yes. The ten LED orbs are removable rather than sealed into the cable, so one failure does not mean a new strand. They are a specific Brightech globe rather than a standard bulb shape, so replacements need to come from Brightech rather than a hardware store.

Over patios, decks and backyard seating, and indoors in event spaces or a bedroom. You can hang them overhead, drape them over fences or plants, or even set them on the floor. The round globes read more modern and sculptural than classic cafe lights, so they suit a space where the strand is meant to be noticed rather than disappear.

The strand is 28.6 feet in total, which includes about 9.8 feet of lead cable from the plug to the first globe, leaving roughly 17 feet of lit length. That covers a small patio or one pass over a seating area, so measure the lead separately when planning the distance from your outlet.

In a standard parcel box, 12.2 by 8.3 by 7.9 inches at 4.2 lbs, since the globes are bulkier than standard bulbs. Not an oversized item.

No assembly. The globes are fitted, so the strand comes out of the box ready to hang and plug in. The work is in the hanging, not the setup.
