The natural warm palette: the materials and colors shaping Brightech's lamps

Stone, wood and earthy color, lit by warm light.

Homes are moving away from cool grays and stark white toward a warmer, more natural palette: stone, wood and earthy color, lit by warm light. Brightech's newest lamps follow that shift. Brown marble and travertine bases, walnut-finished wood, deep greens and reds, and warm 2700K light that makes all of them glow.

Brown marble

White marble built the Brightech look; brown marble is where it is heading. Its deep, veined tone reads richer and warmer, and it pairs naturally with wood and linen. Find it on the Mila Tall, the Runo and the Sansa table lamps.

Travertine

Travertine is a soft, porous stone in sandy, creamy tones, with a matte texture that feels relaxed rather than polished. It brings a calm, sun-warmed feel to a room. Brightech uses it on the Cleo, Runo, Sansa, Mila Tall, Kai and Neptune table lamps.

Walnut-finished wood

A walnut finish adds warmth and shows off the grain, and because wood is natural, no two pieces look exactly alike. The Oren, Brightech's best-selling wood lamp, sets a wood base in a walnut finish under a slim black stem and a fabric shade, drum or pleated, for modern, Japandi and midcentury rooms. The Oakley is built around a solid wood column in a walnut finish with a cream cotton shade, the Koa sets a triangular cotton shade on a koa wood column with a rich grain, and the Carter and Emma floor lamps bring walnut tones to a living room or bedroom. For a lighter, rustic or cabin feel, the Eden wood tripod is the pick.

Deep green

Green is the color of the natural palette, from sage to deep forest. It pairs with wood and brass and brings the outdoors in. The Sky, Leaf and 3 Ring Lamp floor lamps all come in green, the Kai table lamp in green marble, the Libra in a soft olive green, and the cordless Celia in Green and Teal.

Warm red

Red is back, in warm, earthy tones rather than bright primaries. A red lamp is an easy way to add color without repainting. Find it on the Sky, Leaf and 3 Ring Lamp floor lamps, the Serena and Vino table lamps, and the cordless Celia, Portobello and Ren.

Mixing stone, wood and color

The palette works because its pieces share the same warm undertone. Brown marble and walnut-finished wood both carry red-brown notes, travertine sits between cream and sand, and deep green and warm red are the colors those materials meet in nature. That is why a travertine table lamp, a walnut-finish floor lamp and a green accent can share a room without clashing. Keep the metals warm too: brass sits naturally beside all of them.

Warm light ties it together

Natural materials look their best under warm light, and almost every Brightech lamp is warm: 2700K or 3000K. The floor lamps mostly use 3000K, a warm white that is still crisp enough to read by. The table lamps lean to 2700K, the amber glow of a traditional bulb, and every stone and wood table lamp here, from the Runo and Sansa to the Mila Tall and Oakley, is 2700K. Cool light makes stone and wood look flat; warm light brings out the veining in marble and the grain in walnut.

How to use the palette at home

  1. Start with one natural material and repeat it. A travertine lamp on a nightstand and a stone tray on the dresser.
  2. Pair wood with brass or with cream linen.
  3. Use green or red as the accent, one or two pieces per room.
  4. Keep every bulb in the room at the same warm temperature so the colors stay consistent.
  5. Let stone sit low and wood stand tall. A marble or travertine table lamp on the nightstand, a walnut floor lamp by the reading chair.
  6. Layer textures, not just colors. Matte travertine, polished marble and woven linen read richer together than one finish alone.
