Excellent. Just what I needed.
First plug in of string lights we were very disappointed with how bright they are. The dimmer is perfection and we couldn’t be happier with them now.

I just love the way I can control my plug in String Lights!
The dimmer is a plastic-bodied unit built for outdoor use, with a plug on one end and a socket for the string light on the other, plus a handheld remote. It weighs under a pound.
It sits between the outlet and a plug-in string light and adds a remote control: you can dim the lights or switch them off from up to 100 feet away, without walking to the outlet. It is the simplest way to add dimming to string lights that have no dimmer of their own.
Four levels: the remote sets the strand to 25%, 50%, 75% or 100% brightness and also switches it off. The dimmer remembers the last level you chose, so the lights come back at the same brightness.
No. The dimmer only changes how bright the strand is. Where the light falls depends on how the strand itself is hung.
No special bulbs, but the dimmer is made for LED string lights. It is LED-rated up to 150 watts and works with Brightech's plug-in LED outdoor string lights. It is not compatible with incandescent string lights or holiday light strands.
It is made for Brightech's plug-in LED outdoor string lights: the dimmer plugs into an outlet and the strand plugs into the dimmer. It does not work with incandescent strands or holiday lights, or with solar strands such as the Ambience Pro Solar range, because those have no plug and run off a solar panel instead.
Outdoors, with patio and backyard string lights, which is where a switch is usually the hardest thing to reach. It also works indoors anywhere a plug-in strand is used, such as a covered porch or an event space.
Small. The unit weighs about 11.6 ounces and ships in a box a little over 6 inches long, so it hangs at the outlet without needing support. The remote is handheld.
In a small parcel box, 6.3 by 4.5 by 2 inches at well under a pound. On its own it falls under the $99 free shipping threshold.
No setup. Plug the dimmer into the outlet, plug the string lights into the dimmer, and use the remote. Under a minute.
The string lights themselves. Add the dimmer to a plug-in LED run such as the Ambience Pro LED String Lights, and it turns a strand that is only on or off into one you can set by mood.
The Outdoor Dimmer is covered by a 5 year warranty, with US based customer service.
